Tucked along the Gulf of Salerno in Italy, and part of the Sorrento Peninsula, the Amalfi Coast is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which draws thousands of visitors annually who come for the scenery, the food, the beaches, and the luxurious experiences available only in this area. Famous for its historic and beautiful villas, it is a place where clients of Isle Blue can easily find an idyllic place to enjoy an unforgettable holiday.

With a long list of unique and opulent properties from which to choose, and each with personalized services to meet your needs, you will find it a simple thing to plan a memorable experience along the Amalfi Coast.

Travelers also find it incredibly easy to reach this region using a variety of transportation options and services.

Getting to the Amalfi Coast

The Amalfi Coast is a place where travel by water is as frequent and common as travel by car or air. In fact, boat transportation is one of the most frequently used modes of arrival and departure. A large network of ferry services make it easy to travel from coastal town to coastal town and to the neighboring islands nearby. It is, perhaps, one of the most relaxing ways to "commute" during a holiday, and with perpetually calm waters, it makes for a truly remarkable experience.

The way most travelers actually reach the Amalfi Coast by water is simple. It begins with a flight into Naples. The international airport in the city is used by a long list of European, Asian, and North American carriers and operates 24 hours a day. From Naples, guests can then simply use transportation to the ferry terminal and book their boat to one of the popular stops along the Amalfi Coast.

Travelers may also depart from other areas, including Capri, Paestum or Salerno by ferry or private boat as well.

Another option is to travel from one of many European cities via train to Naples and then head to the ferry terminal for departure to your Amalfi Coast destination.

One of the preferred arrival locations is Sorrento, and this is because the sea approach to this part of the coast is particularly and especially scenic, which says a lot for an area already recognized as one of the most stunning in the world!

From the Shore

Guests of Isle Blue can work with their concierge to make arrangements for transportation from the nearest ferry landing. Experts tend to agree that driving through the Amalfi Coastal region is not for the faint of heart or inexperienced. While there are options for public transport, a private car gives the freedom to come and go, explore or stop, and a means of enjoying the very best the Amalfi Coast has to offer.

They say that "getting there is half the fun" and this is true of any voyage towards and to the Amalfi Coast. Whether you fly, drive or use the water to reach this world-class destination, you can be sure that it will be a remarkably beautiful experience.
