One Helluva Tough Day Out

Barbados

This particular test of your endurance begins at sea level at Bathsheba, in the Scotland District of the island. The first leg of your bike-hike-bike expedition takes you on bike across the bridge at Joes River, along East Coast Road parallel to the angry Atlantic Ocean then turning inland, through the interior, via Belleplaine, Haggats and then into Spring Vale, in St Andrew, where we pick up the trailhead on foot; destination Mount Hillaby – the highest point on the island.

To get there we must first traverse the rough trail section through Rasta Patch, then onto White Hill for a short road section and lastly returning to a steep single-track ascent to Mount Hillaby peak; 1100 ft above sea level. After admiring the view and what we’ve accomplished thus far, the third and final leg of our Challenge puts us back on the bike, with a hilly return to Bathsheba by way of Highland, St. Thomas, finally descending to where we started hours earlier, along the scenic Saddle Back ridge road.

Spectacular views, demanding terrain and a certain sense of accomplishment await you on this once in a lifetime Challenge; and as we said in the beginning, it's ONE HELLUVA TOUGH DAY OUT.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

"Isle Blue is everything they say they are. They were a pleasure to deal with and were very responsive and informative. The pictures on their website are exactly what you end up getting and they provide full concierge service throughout your stay. My family and I had an amazing time and before we even returned home, we went to the Isle Blue website to check out their inventory for our next vacation. They really are just that good!"
