Corfu sits as the northernmost of the Ionian Islands, a region off the northwestern coastal area of mainland Greece. Having changed hands many time over the centuries, this island is one of the most "European" of them all, with obvious influences from British, French, and Venetian inhabitants. The main town of Kerkira (Corfu Town) is a must see local, but the island itself is dotted with several heritage sites surrounded by charming esplanades, fishing villages, and world-class boutiques and dining ensure visitors enjoy a luxuriously Old World holiday.

Corfu Town is also the main arrival point for air and ferry passengers. Daily flights from Athens (a one-hour flight) bring visitors to the heart of the island, but several international carriers provide direct flights from the UK, Rome, Paris and Germany.

Ferries and boat services are abundant with direct lines from Italy and Albania, with journeys as little as 25 minutes (Albania) to eight hours (Italy).

Getting around Corfu is easy, and the island features two bus lines - one for the Corfu Town area and another that traverses the rest of the island. Taxis are abundant, and rental cars are another popular way of exploring. Many travelers also hire drivers to enable themselves to take in the scenery. Biking is an advisable way of sightseeing, and you may even want to rent a boat and tour Corfu from its perimeter.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

"Isle Blue is everything they say they are. They were a pleasure to deal with and were very responsive and informative. The pictures on their website are exactly what you end up getting and they provide full concierge service throughout your stay. My family and I had an amazing time and before we even returned home, we went to the Isle Blue website to check out their inventory for our next vacation. They really are just that good!"
