Another of the most popular islands visited by travelers, it is often described as the most picturesque and scenically beautiful island in the Cyclades. Full of excellent beaches, utterly charming villages, and with a distinctly Venetian air, it is a bit less crowded and hectic than Mykonos and Santorini. Savvy travelers book private villas in the hills above the main town and enjoy short walks or bicycle rides to beaches, restaurants, sites, or just for the joy of the Paros landscape.

Arrivals are by ferry service or by plane. Daily ferries depart from Piraeus and Rafina, with the average journey lasting three to five hours. Olympic Air has domestic flights of thirty minutes in length out of Athens and into Parikia - the main town. No international flights arrive on the island, though nearby Mykonos and Santorini both have UK and European direct flight options.

Getting around is easily done on foot, with almost all destinations within short walking distances. However, good bus services cover the island and car rentals are easily arranged. Bicyclists love this island, as do those who favor ATVs and motorbikes.

The village of Naoussa is a lovely northern fishing village with excellent restaurants, scenery and facilities. The main town of Parikia is where some of the finest seafood, taverns, and scenery are found in the entire region. Walking the narrow streets, exploring the boutiques and dining on local specialties like octopus are must have experiences, and easily done from a private villa rental.

WHAT OUR GUESTS ARE SAYING

"Isle Blue is everything they say they are. They were a pleasure to deal with and were very responsive and informative. The pictures on their website are exactly what you end up getting and they provide full concierge service throughout your stay. My family and I had an amazing time and before we even returned home, we went to the Isle Blue website to check out their inventory for our next vacation. They really are just that good!"
