How to Get there: Reached only by car, follow signposts from San Antonio or San José, to the direction of Cala Tarida and Cala Vadella. There's limited car parking a short walk from the beach, therefore can get troublesome to find a place at weekends and high season. Turn left at the signpost on the San José to Cala Vadella road (behind the turning to Cala d'Hort, just before you reach Cala Vadella) and a narrower road will take you to the small, sheltered sandy cove. Cala Carbo is one of Ibiza's most private little beaches. The beach is a combination of sand and pebbles that shelves gently into clear water. The rocky coastline that extends from the sand is great for kids to explore and rock pool, whilst fishing off the small appeals to some. Good moorings are available for private boats.

Cala Conta Beach (Platges de Comte)

Location: 15 minutes drive from San Antonio
Facilities: Loungers, parasols, restaurants, bars, toilets, showers, lifeguards, access for the disabled

How to get there: Reached by car, bus or ferry in summer.  The ferry shuttle departs regularly from San Antonio harbor. The bus can be caught at the bus station in San Antonio or along the bay road.There is ample Parking, but can get crowded in high season, so its recommended to get there early.

There are two stretches of sand, one banked by a rocky coastline,the other by sand dunes. A third and smaller cove, used by naturists, is at the far end and reached by steps carved into the rock. The shallow water is safe for children, whilst the more experienced swimmers can swim to the island offshore, however take care of currents and flag warnings.

Cala Conta has fabulous views of the little islands dotted near Ibiza's coastline, beautiful turquoise waters and several different areas to explore, making it one of the best beaches on the island.

Who goes there?
A landmark beach in Ibiza and regular Ibiza goers will know it well. A great spot for snorkeling enthusiasts, but best known for its amazing sunset, crowds gather and boats anchor to catch the beautiful spectacle. Families enjoy the shallow waters here.

When to go:
Due to its popularity, this beach gets pretty crowded in full season, best to get there early to secure a good spot and a parking place, but well worth the wait to view the sunset.

Cala Tarida Beach

Location: The beach of the small resort of Cala Tarida, 10 minutes drive from San José, 15 minutes drive from San Antonio Facilities: Sunbeds, parasols, restaurants, bars, lifeguards Activities: Pedaloes, diving school, volleyball

How to get there: Reached by car or ferry in the summer season, follow signposts from San Antonio or San José. Parking in dedicated spaces.
Description: A sheltered bay in the small resort of Cala Tarida with the longest and widest beach of fine white sand on this side of the island. Beautiful clean, clear waters, with a magnificent array of turquoise, emerald and deep blue colors. To the right the waters are shallow with a sandy bottom, with deeper more rocky waters to the left, ideal for snorkeling.

A popular family beach, with shops right on the beach to buy inflatables, snorkel gear and beach balls.

Who goes there?
Being near a large hotel resort, this beach is very family orientated and can get very busy in the high season.
However plenty of activities to keep the children occupied .

When to go:
For a full day at the beach, try to get there early to avoid parking difficulties, or go late afternoon when the beach quiets a tab and enjoy a cocktail a stunning view of the coastline.

Talamanca beach

Location: Just past Ibiza town and to the left of the Famous Marina Botafoch area.
How to get there:From Ibiza town, take a left turn onto Ocho de Agosto towards Marina Botafoch – the same road “Pacha” is on – and follow the signs. Turn left again and you’ve reached Talamanca’s beach, where also you’ll find free parking. Alternatively, you can walk from Ibiza town, following the Paseo de Maritimo along the water’s edge.

Safe, shallow, calm and clear waters are the focal point in the pretty bay of Talamanca, the closest beach in proximity to Ibiza town. A long wooden promenade that runs the length of the shore and has an array of restaurants and beach bars, making it a great place to set up for either a day on the beach or just a quick lunchtime snack.

Who goes there?
Talamanca is great for people watching as it really does attract all types. From post-party people sleeping it off in between young families on holiday. Popular beach for locals catching a few rays in their siesta. Very child friendly due to its shallow waters

When to go:
The tranquility of Talamanca can’t be beaten in the hours before lunchtime and it’s easy to score a great spot on the sand or grab a sun bed.
