In order to reach St John, guests must first fly into Cyril E. King Airport on St Thomas (airport code: STT) and continue on to St John by ferry.
St Thomas airport is served by numerous US Airlines such as American Airlines, Jet Blue, United, Delta and US Airways. Gateway cities include New Yrok, Boston, Atlanta, San Juan, Fort Lauterdale, Minneapolics, Chicago, Washington-Dulles, Newark, Charlotte and Philadelphia.
Upon arrival in St Thomas, St John Travelers will need to take a taxi to the local ferry terminal (Charlotte Amalie) and then take a 45 minute ferry to St John. The ferry service is reliable and inexpensive. The ferry from Charlotte Amalie to Cruz Bay, St John is about 45 minutes and costs approximately $12 per adult one way and $3.50 per child (ages 2-11) one way. The ferry leaves to St John at 10AM, 1PM and 5:30 PM.
Guests may choose to use the ferry from Red Hook, St Thomas to Cruz Bay, St John. Ferries leave once an hour for the 20 minute ferry starting from 5:30 AM to midnight. Tickets on this ferry are $6.00 per adult and $1.00 per child each way.
