Ibiza Vacation Guide

For many travelers, Ibiza needs very little introduction as it is a favorite spot for many. The nights are full of wild parties, and the days are spent with the toes curled in the shimmering sands on one of the magnificent beaches. Plus, there are about a million other activities to enjoy while on an Ibiza trip.

While vacationing on this lovely Spanish isle, you will be astounded by the beauty that surrounds you every step of the way, whether it is the natural beauty of the sunset touching the waves or the manmade beauty of the architecture that surrounds you on the city streets.

Things to Do on Your Ibiza Vacation

There are so many things to do, you will have a hard time working them all into your limited vacation days. That is probably one of the main reasons visitors tend to come back year after year. An Ibiza trip seems to be the highlight of many a traveler’s year.

A trip to the island would not be complete without spending at least one evening watching the sunset from the iconic Es Vedra. It isn’t accessible by car, but you can get to the top with just a ten-minute walk. Sitting on the edge of the cliff and watching the sun sink below the horizon will take your breath away, and it is an experience you won’t soon forget.

If you still need a few more quiet and peaceful hours before you dive into the party atmosphere, you can consider going on a yoga retreat. Soulshine Retreats offers a yoga getaway at a luxuriously converted farmhouse surrounded by gorgeous trees and teal waters. If you can’t relax here, you probably can’t relax anywhere!

Now that you are well rested, it is time to enjoy the famed party scene. Just about any street in the larger towns on the island will have some sort of club or other venue to enjoy. However, there are always the more established spots to visit as well such as Pacha or Space. You can dance and drink until you can barely stumble back to your Ibiza Vacation rentals.

In between the yoga and the partying, you may want to find a spare moment to explore some of the older and smaller towns dotting the island. Your Ibiza vacation should take you towards the northern side of the island to the town of San Juan. The town is surrounded by olive groves and rolling hills, and there is a local market that is fun to explore.

Another fun adventure to have while vacationing on Ibiza is a day trip out on a catamaran. You can spend your day sailing around and exploring the many bays. Plus, you can enjoy the sun or jump off the side of the deck for a little time in the sea.

If you want to add a little bit of history to your Ibiza trip, a few hours spent visiting the Dalt Vila UNESCO site should be on your list. Located in the oldest part of Ibiza Town, the fortifications were built to ward off the Berber pirate attacks. There are seven bastions to explore, and each has its own history and story to learn.

Another interesting spot that is quite unlike anything you have been likely to see before is the Aquarium Cap Blanc located just outside of San Antonio. The aquarium is located in a sea cave that was historically used by fisherman for lobster trapping. Now you can walk along the raised boardwalks and marvel at sea turtles, rays, and other sea life.

If you are enjoying the animal encounters, then you should head to Horse Valley which is located on the outskirts of Ibiza Town. These stables rescue horses and ponies that are being mistreated and nurse them back to good health. You can visit the stables and go on a horseback riding excursion on one of the steeds.

There are plenty more activities to explore during your Ibiza vacation. Things like snorkeling, surfing, SUP paddle boarding can be found on nearly all the beaches. Plus, there are plenty of boutiques for shopping!

Ibiza Best Restaurants

While the parties, spas, and breathtaking views are enough to keep you busy all day and night while enjoying the sights around your Ibiza holiday rentals, you will definitely need to eat at some point during your stay. Don’t worry, Ibiza has the culinary delights your taste buds are craving. There are plenty of places to get a quick bite or an involved gourmet dinner depending on your eating styles.

If you make it out to watch the sunset at Es Verde on your way back to your Ibiza holiday rental, you may want to stop off in San Jose for a dinner at UNIC Restaurant. They have a 10-course tasting menu that will give you a full range of culinary delights to enjoy. The chef of the restaurant is an Ibiza native that previously worked in a Michelin star restaurant located in France.

If you wish to dine in Ibiza’s old town, Sa Brisa is an excellent choice. A tapas restaurant with an Asian flare, you can sample a little bit of everything if you opt to order from the tasting menu. The presentation is quirky and fun, and the food is top-notch.

If you are searching for an eatery that is a little bit more laid back, the Giri Cafe is a great spot to enjoy a hearty breakfast which happens to be served 24-hours per day. Indulge yourself with freshly baked croissants and a plate of fruit or go all out with poached eggs and bacon. There are plenty of other classic breakfast items like pancakes as well.

If you are in the mood for more traditional Spanish cuisine, then a dinner at Mar A Villa Restaurant is in order. This is a spot that is loved by the locals and serves cocktails in adorable glass jars.

If you want to get a little more adventurous with your meal, then make a reservation at Bambuddha which specializes in Asian foods from Japan, Vietnam, and Thailand. The main dining area has a bamboo cover, and there are also private areas to book if you have a larger party. The food is as delicious as the atmosphere is distinctive.

La Casita is a quaint little restaurant that is located in an old farmhouse. The food offerings are a mix of various European cuisines including Spanish and French inspirations. You can relish your beef bourguignon while enjoying the view of the pine forest that surrounds the space.

Another quality tapas restaurant, La Bodega offers high-quality ingredients in the Spanish style. The restaurant can be found on a busy street in Dalt Vila, and you can sit at one of the sidewalk tables and people watch while you dine.

If you are craving fresh seafood, Ca Na Ribes is the restaurant for you. This spot has been in existence for 80 years, and it has the distinctive Mediterranean vibe you would expect.

Ibiza Beach Guide

For many travelers, choosing one of the Ibiza villas for rent will be determined solely on its proximity to the beach. Yet, it may be a difficult choice to decide which of the amazing beaches you want to be nearest to. The island has some of the most beautiful beaches in all of the Mediterranean, so the choice is exceedingly difficult.

Those wishing to partake in the more spiritual side of the island offerings may want to consider an Ibiza villa that is in close proximity to Benirras. This beach is located on the northern part of the island, and it is known for the tribal drumming sessions that pop up in the evenings. Plus, there is a hippie market nearby for those that want to do a bit of shopping during their Ibiza vacation.

On the south-west coast of the island is Cala Carbo which is a popular spot among locals. This little inlet boasts translucent waters that inspire serene days of lazy sunbathing. The beach is dotted with smooth pebbles in various shades ranging from oyster to cinnamon. It is the perfect beach to get your summer reading done, and once you have had your fill, you can head to one of the nearby eateries for a delicious serving of paella.

Cala Olivera is a bit of a hidden gem, and it takes a car to get there because you have to travel down a dusty road to find the inlet. The waters here are emerald with rocks jutting up from the grounds. It is generally not very crowded due to it being close to a gated community in such an out of the way spot.

If you want a beach that is great during the day and the night, Sol d’en Serra should be the highlight of your Ibiza vacation. This beach is located in a secluded cove, and it becomes absolutely enchanting once the sun sets. There are restaurants built into the side of the cliffs, and it all adds to the charm and wonder of this beautiful cove. You will enjoy a moonlight dinner while staring up at the stars twinkling in the sky.

If you are looking for a beach to visit while sailing around the island, you must make a stop at Cala Jondal. This beach is most often visited by the rich and famous who are ferried ashore from their anchored super yachts, and the famous Blue Marlin beach club calls Cala Jondal home. There are plenty of other restaurants near the shoreline if you aren’t prepared for a visit to the upscale beach club.

Cala Xarraca is the beach for you if you want to spend a portion of your days in Ibiza snorkeling and enjoying the subaquatic sights. This beach is located in a sheltered bay that is surrounded by a pine forest. The topaz waters are shimmering and beautiful, and there are mud baths that naturally occur along the main beach area.
