One of the most exciting excursions in the Mayan Riviera is the Sian Ka’an Tour, which gives you time in a gorgeous nature reserve where you can learn more about the wildlife and culture of the area. The tour includes transportation in a van with a cooler filled with fruit, water, and other snacks. You’ll also have professional guides, access to a boat with snorkel equipment, free lunch, and non-alcoholic drinks. The tour takes place several times a week and accommodates up to 10 guests.
The day starts with a drive into the jungle before reaching the boat, which will take you out on the water. Visit the area where the wetlands meet the sea and watch closely to see animals like crocodiles and manatees. Once on the sea, expect to see turtles, dolphins, and more. You’ll have a chance to swim before enjoying a tropical lunch as the tour winds down.
