With its impressive, tranquil design inspired by traditional Japanese architecture and gardens, the Villa Shogun on the private island of Mustique offers an estate-like, tropical retreat. With nine bedrooms and more than twelve acres of private grounds, this villa is easily a destination all on its own. Though the island does have a lovely range of shops, restaurants and amenities for guests, as well as many gorgeous beaches, you may find it difficult to leave this stunning property.
With a full staff, including a chef, the villa focuses on private and shared living spaces, as well as indoor and outdoor amenities. As you enter the grounds, you are greeted by the large and beautiful koi pond. This is framed with a dining gazebo and shared living room along one edge and a media room and access to the sundeck. Passing through the grounds, you reach the pool with its outdoor shower, gazebo, waterfall and beautiful terrace. Off the living room is a sundeck, and from here you reach another dining gazebo and garden path that takes you to the terrace area below the pool.
Several bedrooms adjoin the shared living spaces, and each is a private paradise of its own. All have balconies or verandahs, opulent ensuite bathrooms and garden or pond views. The bedrooms that are in private buildings include the two in the Traveller's Tree Cottages, with private baths and a large terrace. The Little Shogun is a wonderful part of the property with a courtyard, two large bedrooms with ensuite baths and a shared verandah, a kitchen and living room, and another pool with waterfall, surrounding deck and gardens and a gazebo.
A true paradise hidden on a hillside overlooking Britannia Bay on Mustique, the precious Villa Shogun is a true delight. You will find it ideal for a family holiday or as an unforgettable escape for a group of discerning friends.
