Take a load off by the ocean and live like a rock star on vacation for a little while. Villa RockSea in Terres Basses on St. Martin is a three-bedroom villa sprawled on a large beach property. Three houses and a pool with an expansive terrace are placed on the individual, stage-like raised platforms that make every feature of this gorgeous villa the star of its own show.

The first thing guests will notice about Villa RockSea, other than its stunning waterfront location, is the pool. Rockfish-red tile makes the pool feel sumptuous—a little taboo, even—as if there’s a reason no one does it. No reason makes itself apparent, though, except that it might be hard to stay out of the pool, which could be considered a little rebellious if one considers that the oceanfront is mere steps from any given space on the property. In truth, everything is cool and kosher at Villa RockSea. Even rock stars need to relax and there’s no shortage of them adorning the walls here.

A large portrait of a rock band on stage hangs in the main living space across from a double-layered, circular mirror on the opposite wall. These pieces speak nicely to the bleached white willow-wicker living-room set which sits around a hand-woven rug on warm tile and a glass coffee table. White walls and a large ceiling fan hanging from the decorative rafters allow for staying cool and checking out the view over good a conversation.

An outdoor kitchen with an alfresco dining table has a lovely raw-marble kitchen island accompanied by minimalist warm wooden cabinets. Cook here or have an in-villa chef prepare gourmet meals by the seaside.* A barbecue is outside by the dining table, which is situated on a veranda, so poolside barbecues or even catered luncheons* can be enjoyed after a long day on the beach or lounging. There’s also an upstairs deck with shade umbrellas and seating overlooking the ocean.

Three bedrooms—two kings and one queen—have en-suite bathrooms with showers, vanities, and water closets, along with ceiling fans, air-conditioning, television, a private deck, and ocean views. From the private deck, one can walk directly onto the sand, take a midnight walk on the beach or a quick dip, and enjoy the outdoor shower before heading back to sleep.
