Villa Siena, Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos

There is a lot more to be appreciated about the stately Villa Siena other than its location in Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos; it doesn’t get much better than Vila Siena if Grace Bay is where you happen to be going. This stately masterpiece is coyly placed like a featureless white brick amongst some palm trees just a short distance off the white sand beach. But get a little closer and Villa Siena reveals stately dignity and opulent comfort.

Guests are greeted at the driveway by two statues of dogs at attention on either side of a set of marble stairs leading into the front garden and house entrance. The entrance is unassuming at first glance (as is everything else in its color), but two pillars mark the entryway and hold up a balcony with a decorative black iron railing that stands as the first hint of Siena’s bold interior.

The main living space downstairs is a gray, L-shaped sectional on large marble tiles. This gray blends in with a single gray wall on which a flat-screen TV is underscored by a floating wooden shelf that matches the color, as the ceiling fans draw the eyes upwards. A wooden banister with delicate iron wave patterns leads to the upstairs sitting room. A bold round table with eight chairs is decorated with a large Ushnisha-head statue as the centerpiece. This is offset by an ebony standing statue on the side of the room against another gray wall with a  much deeper tone. Two glass doors in this seating area lead to a balcony.

Bold colors continue with mahogany in the kitchen, black granite countertops, and stainless-steel appliances with a full oven hood, the perfect space for a chef or catering service to prepare meals on-site. Siena is a four-bedroom, four-bathroom villa with bathrooms in the suites. Three bedrooms are kings and one is a queen suite in a cottage—separate from the main house with a kitchenette and balcony. Each room has either a balcony or pool terrace access, air conditioning, a flat-screen television, bathroom, shower, and vanity.

The back garden is stately and controlled, like the rest of Villa Sienna, with magnetic appeal. Stucco palisades and unassuming palms offer privacy while a clear, rectangular pool stands above ground marked by a large round stone that sits still in the center. Villa Siena is a short walk from Grace Bay and a long way from the comforts of home in the best way possible
