As you drive up the side of the mountain and see the monastery above you and Perissa laid out below, you come to the gates of the private terraced estate.  Up the external steps, through the herb garden slopes, there is your private front door, and out the back of the villa facing the sea is the spectacular peaceful private terrace. There is a stone-built heated pool-jacuzzi, an outdoor lounge and dining area, with table and chairs for al fresco eating and beanbag loungers for sunbathing and siestas under the sail sunshade. The view is mesmerizing, seas, sky, clouds, and if the weather is right the outline of Crete on the horizon.

Garden is an open-plan Cycladic designer living space, full of bright white and pale wood tones, the furniture and fittings are top class, with all the mod cons for luxury living. There is the kitchen and sitting area, and the king-size bedroom with an anatomic mattress and pillow menu for the perfect sleep. The double bathroom has a walk-in large rain shower and double washbasin, luxury bath products, and robes & slippers, everything you need for a couple’s pampering and revitalization.

The Profitis Ilias Monastery is on the highest point of the island, 567 meters, on the top of the mountain of the same name. Visit the gardens of the monastery and the chapel, there is a small gift shop selling local craft products to support the cloistered monks who still live there today, and the panoramic views of the island are unparalleled.
