Villa Casa Rossa in the Lucca area, Tuscany is located just 10 minutes from Lucca in the heart of beautiful Tuscany.

This gated property features a main house with 8 bedrooms with a 16th century chapel on the grounds. The villa, which offers cooking courses that incorporate the fresh ingredients from the Tuscan region, has been carefully restored using materials in the traditional Lucchese style.Guests will enjoy terracotta tiled flooring, an inviting fireplace, chestnut beamed ceilings and decor in the inviting Tuscan color palette. Outside is a swimming pool with views of lush greenery, and tennis players will love the convenience of an onsite court. An outdoor patio area with umbrella shaded tables is designed for alfresco dining overlooking the pool.

Rooms in the villa are accessed through a series of graceful archways. Step through the large entrance hall and find an open layout with a dining room, sitting room, kitchen and study in the main living area. The modern Tuscan kitchen has a dining area under a beamed ceiling and French doors that open to the terrace and the pool beyond. There is also a barbecue for casual meals. A nicely equipped gym and a convenient laundry room are on the ground level, and bedrooms feature private en-suite baths, ceiling fans and mosquito nets. Guests will enjoy the latest electronics including flat screen TV, WiFi Internet and a stereo system.

Villa Casa Rossa offers cooking courses throughout the year that may be tailored to the interests of each group to include cooking demonstrations, wine tastings and recommendations for shopping for local ingredients. Pisa, magnificent Florence and the bell tower town of San Gimignano are all within easy reach.

Additional rooms are available in a renovated barn cottage on the premises.

The rates include : Local host service provided by the property manager who lives close-by, housekeeping service twice a week (additional housekeeping service with bed linen change each Saturday for stays over 1 week), bathroom and pool linens changed mid-week, end of stay cleaning, estate manager on call, gardener, pool cleaning and utilities (water, electricity & WiFi). Additional cost : honesty bar and heating based on consumption (payable locally).

General Information: Casa Rossa was built in the 18th century and last renovated in 2005. It is 20 meters above sea-level and it's 1000 meters away from a village with shop . The property offers 1000 square meters of living space and wide exterior spaces.

Getting there : Florence Airport 50 mins.  Pisa Airport : 35 mins.  Rome Airport : 3 hrs. 30 mins.

Damage Deposit : 20% of rental rate payable by wire transfer prior to arrival.

COOKING COURSES
This property holds Italian Food and Cooking courses throughout the year. The most popular time for courses is April/May and September/October when the weather is mild and the local food produce is at it's best. Courses normally take place Monday to Friday, but can also run over the weekend, for example from Thursday to Monday. Mixed groups and couples are encouraged. Courses are tailored to individual groups and can comprise, for example, 5 days (4 cooking) or 4 days (3 cooking). A typical program might include: Accommodation at the villa with it's pool, tennis court, and gym and access to masseuses and other services.

Private demonstration, tuition and hands on participation with one of Lucca's best local cooks (courses include pasta, antipasti, vegetables, cooked meats, fish, deserts and information and advice on local Italian produce such as wine, olives and cheeses) Shopping for produce with the cook in local and the best "alimentari" for vegetables and antipasti, butchers, bread/foccacia shops and cheese shops etc. Wine tasting from one of Lucca's oldest wine merchants sommeliers' at their spectacular cellars "under" the historic Roman center of Lucca Dinner out in some of Lucca's best restaurants and trattorias. Visits to Olive picking and pressings at a local stone cold press.

Visits local estates to sample locally produced oils, honey, wine and olives.

Visits to a family run local pasta factory.

The main villa has 8 bedrooms. There are an additional two bedrooms available (at an additional cost) in the Barn Cottage that are of a inferior quality so suitable for staff traveling with.

Do we share the villa? click to close
No. You will not share the villa with another party. The villa is exclusively yours. If a larger villa offers a lower bedroom rate category, the villa will remain exclusively yours but the unrented bedrooms will be locked off.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.

Once a reservation request is received, Isle Blue will request a contract from the property manager for your dates of interest. Once the dates are confirmed and contract is received from the property manager, a payment will be required to confirm your reservation.
Once a reservation is confirmed, a concierge will welcome you to the planning stages of your vacation to assist with arrival logistics, rental cars, transfers, and a host of concierge services.

Early check in may be possible but is at the sole discretion of the property manager. Early check in permission may not be granted until 24 hours prior to arrival.
Can we arrange a late check out? click to open
A late check out is rarely granted due to the turnover needs of a villa. A late check out may only be granted 24 hours prior to your departure from the property and only when there is no check in scheduled on the day of your check out. If a late check out is urgently needed please contact us.
Are transfers to the property included? click to open
Select villas may include a one way or roundtrip airport transfer while others may provide an escort or meeting point. Arrival logistics will be handled by your dedicated concierge as well as other concierge needs. The property's transfer policy will be listed under the Policies section.
What to expect upon arrival? click to open
In general, a villa orientation will be provided along with a key turnover. During the orientation, information and instructions for the property will be provided. Emergency contact information will be provided. We are available 7 days a week to assist with any urgent needs.
The arrival procedures due vary from villa to villa, select villas may include welcome provisioning while other properties will provide basic arrival information.

Since these vacation homes are one of a kind properties, the cancellation policy is strict. We highly recommend considering trip/travel insurance to protect against any unexpected cancellations or issues that may arise.

What happens if the property becomes unavailable after I reserve? click to open
In the unlikely event, the rented property becomes unavailable due to a major issue that may affect a guest's experience or a transfer of ownership, Isle Blue will coordinate with the property manager to find an alternate property of equal or superior standard that is subject to the guest's approval. If an alternate property is not acceptable to the guest, the guest will receive a full refund.

Yes, we accept all major credit cards. American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted. Please note that credit card charges may be subject to additional fees. There are no fees with payment by wire transfer or check.
In late 2018, we expect to accept a greater variety of payment methods and currencies via Stripe.
Is housekeeping included? click to open
Housekeeping tends to be a standard among vacation homes but the frequency may vary greatly depending on the property manager’s standards. Most properties will offer daily housekeeping (except Sunday and holidays) while other villas may only provide a mid-week cleaning. Please refer to the Policies section to learn about the housekeeping frequency of the property.

A property may supply an initial supply of soap, shampoo, toilet paper and paper towels but replenishment of supplies once exhausted may be the responsibility of the guest. Each property varies in their handling of toiletries and paper products.
