The newly remodeled Riad Ambre et Epices villa is a stunning residence in the larger Mayan Riviera area. This villa embodies the idea of a Moorish castle that has been placed in the center of the jungle, mostly because it is comprised of 14 bedrooms (with an equal number of ensuite bathrooms) and an additional three bathrooms that aren’t connected to any specific bedrooms. That means that, when you stay within this 9,352 sq. ft. villa, you’ll be treated to 14 bedrooms and 17 bedrooms, which is more than enough space for up to 30 guests (which is the maximum occupancy at one time).
This villa offers quiet and privacy, but it also has many additional rooms that can act as social areas for all members of your group. This Tulum residence uses a décor that fuses Moroccan and Mexican designs to create a unique Caribbean vibe. This way, in case you ever forget that you’re on vacation in the tropics, you can still be reminded of the composition of the property. The décor emphasizes this by going a step further, using a combination of round arches, soft lines, and stucco work – as well as the inclusion of Jacuzzis in the space of a centralized fountain – and this mix of art elements and professional-grade amenities turns the place into an elegant riad within the tropics. (Note: a riad is a traditional Moroccan house.)
This property was previously a hotel that was since split into separate villas that sit next to one another, and you’ll gain access to both of them as part of your booking of the Riad Ambre et Epices villa. You’ll find that six of the bedrooms are in one of the villas, while the remaining eight are in the other. Although the two villas are booked together and meant for a single party, they both have an on-site swimming pool and sun lounge, as well as a rooftop terrace that works as a great location to watch a traditional Caribbean sunset.
As mentioned, the architecture is specifically designed to promote the idea of openness, partially to entice guests to spend their time outdoors. Outside of the building, there are courtyards and lush gardens distributed around the area, and many of them are filled with endemic trees, which creates many wonderful, shaded spots for you to while away the hours of the afternoon if you hope to find solitude during your stay.
Modern amenities/conveniences are also available, and you can even hire a personal chef for the duration of your stay.

While available for advanced requests, the concierge team connects with guests 30 days prior to arrival to coordinate arrivals and to reserve desired services and experiences. Guests with scheduled Christmas/New Year stays will be contacted 90 days prior to arrival.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.
