Villa Sofia is in the Tankah area of Tulum, and a wonderful spot for a group of 14 or less to explore and enjoy the best that the Mayan Riviera has to offer. Set directly along the coveted sands of the region, the six-bedroom, multi-story home is loaded with every possible luxury and amenity. From a private palapa to a casita, it has it all.
Most visitors will gravitate to the pool terrace with its wood and stone deck, large palapa designed for dining and furnished with full-sized swings, an infinity edge pool and a legion of sun chairs facing out towards the amazing sea views. From the pool area, visitors can also enjoy time beneath the stylish verandah with its marble columns and elegant furnishings that make it a wonderful spot to spend hours throughout the day or night. With its stylish lounge furniture and al fresco dining area, it is sure to become a favorite gathering spot.
Step inside and there is more modern style to enjoy. Inspired by Balinese design, the interiors feature a soothing palette of cream and natural wood tones. There is a high ceilinged lounge that gazes out to the beach and which features an enormous banquette sofa sized for a crowd. Just steps away is the more formal lounge, and this opens into the roomy dining area. This leads to the breakfast bar and the chef’s kitchen furnished with the very best in appliances and gear. Marble countertops and great views will make it a delight to use even if on a holiday.
Then there are the six stunning bedrooms. Five are in the main villa and the sixth is a self-contained casita with a full kitchen, lounge, and terrace. It has a king bed and ensuite bath. The other bedrooms are divided between ground and upper floors of the villa and each is a large and rather opulent spot. They all have king beds and open to terraces or private balconies. Each features an enormous and luxurious bath, and the master suite has an amazing plunge tub.
The Villa Sofia is a fantastic find. Set along Tulum’s white sands and fully furnished to serve as your only destination while staying in the Yucatan Peninsula, it is close to the world-class dining and shopping of Tulum, as well as its eco-parks, cenotes, and amazing archaeological sites. While available for advanced requests, the concierge team connects with guests 30 days prior to arrival to coordinate arrivals and to reserve desired services and experiences. Guests with scheduled Christmas/New Year stays will be contacted 90 days prior to arrival.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.
