Located in the middle of the Aegean Sea, Mykonos is considered as the cosmopolitan center of the Cyclades. While some travelers may choose the air to get the faster as possible to the island, other may decide to take their time and tour the Cyclades by boat before arriving on Mykonos.

Most of the European airlines landing at the small international airport of Mykonos (Airport code: JMK) offer regular flights from May through October. In lower season month, travelers will need a connection flight via Athens.
Mykonos is just 3.5 hours to London and Paris, 3 hours to Zurich and Barcelona, 2 hours to Rome and Nice and a short 40 mins to Athens.

Unlike many popular destinations in the region, travelers to Mykonos do not only arrive by air. Instead, some may take a ferry from the Greek mainland or the other Cyclades islands.
It is a somewhat lengthy trip from the mainland – over three hours – and there are more and more high speed catamaran options available. Other islands nearby offer ferry services too, and you may find it possible to arrive by boat from Paros, Naxos, Ios, Santorini, Crete, or Ikaria. There are also ferries from Sifnos, Milos, Anafi and a few other islands, but not as often.
