    Covid-19 Travel Advisory - Jamaica

Curfew hours, COVID protocols for travel, villa stays in Jamaica, Ground Transportation & Excursions

    Updated April 21, 2022

Effective April 16, 2022, travel to Jamaica is easier - Pre travel COVID-19 test is no longer required.

    Travel restrictions

Due to the fluid nature of travel protocols, we highly encourage everyone to visit the Jamaica Tourist Board website https://www.visitjamaica.com/travelauthorization/

All of our villas have completed the COVID -19 PROTOCOL COMPLIANT TOURISM ENTITY assessment test through the Tourism Product Development Company (TPDCo) which is a division of the Jamaica Tourist Board. Most importantly, the staff are trained and ready to receive guests during this unprecedented time.

Due to COVID, no outside guests (i.e., guests not staying on property) are allowed on site.

    Pre-Departure & Arrival

    • STEP 1: Go to the airport

Head to the airport with your travel documents and check-in for your flight.

    • STEP 2: Arrival processing

Travellers will be processed through Immigration and Customs. For faster processing on arrival, travellers are encouraged to submit their Immigration/Customs card online at https://enterjamaica.com and may do so at any time prior to arrival.

    • STEP 3: Enjoy Jamaica

Having cleared processing at the airport, travelers may proceed to their accommodation and are free to move within the island though all persons are encouraged to voluntarily observe the standard protocols, including the wearing of a mask and maintaining social distance in public spaces.

    On Island Experience

Enjoy your vacation as you planned. Visitors to the island may enjoy the many comforts and amenities at their accommodation of choice, and are free to visit the many attractions, shopping malls and other places of interest. All persons are encouraged to voluntarily observe the standard protocols, including the wearing of a mask and maintaining social distance in public spaces.

    Return Travel

For travellers departing the island, many countries and airlines require the presentation of a recent negative COVID-19 test result to board a flight. Jamaica has adequate testing locations and capacity available to meet the demand. See below the testing centers in Jamaica.

Travelers are encouraged to consult their home country entry requirements website, contact a travel agent or the airline for detail.

    • United States citizens: Travelers are required to show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel, OR documentation of having recovered from COVID-19, before they board their flight.
      Resource: International Travel | CDC

    • Canadian citizens: Pre-entry tests are no longer required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada. Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children 5 years of age or older must provide a valid pre-entry test result, even if they are accompanying a fully vaccinated adult. Children who are less than 5 years old are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status.

Set up your ArriveCAN account before you travel
You must use the ArriveCAN mobile app or sign in on a computer to enter your proof of vaccination, quarantine and travel information. Proof of vaccination and travel documents can be saved in your ArriveCAN traveller profile before any planned travel
      ArriveCAN is always free.

    Special Note:

If a visitor tests positive for COVID-19 while in Jamaica, they will be required to isolate at the hotel or at a government facility for up to 10 days. For purposes of departure from the island before the isolation period ends, visitors may be released from isolation by a medical officer according to the rules of their country of destination and the airlines.

Travellers to the USA may therefore be released from isolation after 5 days if they are asymptomatic or their symptoms are mild and improving. More details here.
