    How to get to Provence

Closest airport and train station, Driving to Provence

    By road

From all parts of France and Europe. Roads are generally good. The Alpilles area is located to the west of the main 'Autoroute du Soleil' A7 that links Paris to the south of France. The Luberon is located east of this same autoroute. Approximately 7 hour drive from Paris, 4 hours from Geneva or Barcelona, 2 hours from Nice, and 1 hour from Marseille.

    By train

The French railway system, run by TGV / SNCF, is connected with the rest of the European rail system so it is easy to reach Provence from other parts of France and Europe. The main rail route is via the TGV station in Avignon. Direct international trains arrive there from Paris, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Basel and Munich etc. Paris to Avignon is 2.5 hours and Paris to Aix en Provence is 3 hours.

    By plane

Flights into Marseille Provence airport (MRS), located 1 hr south of the Luberon / Alpilles by road. Regional, national, European and international flights and carriers service this airport.

Paris Charles de Gaulles (CDG), with connections either to Marseille or to the nearby TGV station and onto Avignon.

Paris Orly (ORY), with connections either to Marseille or to the nearby TGV station and onto Avignon.

Private jets into Marseille airport (MRS) or Avignon airport (AVN)
