    Covid-19 Travel Advisory - Thailand

    Thailand Entry Requirements, current restrictions

    Update October 28, 2021

    Thailand is reopening for tourism.

From 1 November 2021, vaccinated travellers from these countries can enter Thailand by air, simply by applying for a Thailand Pass before travelling. They are only required to isolate themselves in a SHA+ property for one night until their on-arrival RT-PCR results come back negative. Here’s all you need to know:

    What is the Thailand Pass?

The Thailand Pass is a web-based system that aims to streamline documentation requirements for travel to Thailand, making the process simpler and more efficient.

    Who can apply?

    1. Fully Vaccinated Visitors from Listed Countries

Fully vaccinated travellers from a long list of countries are allowed to enter Thailand from 1 November 2021. They are only required to stay for 1 night at a SHA+ property while they wait for the results of their on-arrival RT-PCR tests. Visitors should have stayed in these countries for at least 21 days before travelling to Thailand.

    2. All Fully Vaccinated Visitors (Sandbox Program)

Fully vaccinated visitors from all other countries are welcome to travel to Thailand under the Sandbox program. Spend 7 nights in our accredited SHA+ villas in Phuket or Koh Samui to fulfil the requirements of the program and holiday in style.

    3. Non-Vaccinated Travellers under Quarantine Program

Not to be left out, non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers are also allowed to travel to Thailand. They must undergo a mandatory quarantine of 10 nights in an accredited ASQ or AQ quarantine villa or hotel before they will be allowed to travel to other parts of Thailand.

    Requirements for the Thailand Pass

The Thailand Pass requirements are straightforward to assist in ease of travel. You will need a:

    Recommended COVID Insurance

Based on experience, the common problem for COE or Thailand Pass applications being rejected and travelers being denied to board their flight is that some insurance policies are not properly worded. Your COVID 19 insurance must expressly state that it covers up to 50,000 USD medical expenses including COVID 19 and it must cover your whole stay in Thailand. How do I apply?

The entire process is online and it generates a QR code that will be required for entry into Thailand. You only have to:

    1. Register at the Thailand Pass website

    2. Input personal details

    3. Upload the required documents

Once approved, you will receive your QR Entry Code or Thailand Pass ID via email.

How long does it take to process the Thailand Pass?

It will take approximately 3 to 5 days to process your Thailand Pass, depending on the Thai Embassy or Consulate where your application has been submitted. We recommend that you apply for the Thailand pass at least seven days before your intended departure.

Note: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) in collaboration with the Digital Government Development Agency (DGDA) is currently developing the Thailand Pass System and it has not yet been officially launched. The information published here may change as the Pass gets finalised. We will publish updates as soon as they are officially announced. Please check government websites for the latest information.
