The Attractions of St Lucia's southern regions
If you are looking for a relaxed holiday experience to explore nature and grand vistas then the southern areas of the island is an attractive fit. The South features the stunning iconic Piton mountains as well as beautiful botanical gardens and waterfalls.
Airports in St Lucia
Please note that St Lucia has two separate airports that visitors fly into. The Hewanorra International Airport (code UVF) which is based on the south coast at Vieux Fort and the George F. L. Charles Regional Airport (code SLU), which is situated in Castries on the west coast.
Flying internationally you would arrive at UVF, collect you rental vehicle and then drive up the Atlantic coast, cross over the middle of the island to the Caribbean coast and then on to your villa located in the Marigot Bay, Rodney Bay and Cap Estate areas. It would take about 1hr 45 mins.
If you would prefer to fly into the regional airport SLU, you would have to fly internationally to either Barbados or Martinique and then hop onto a Liat flight to St Lucia.
