“Create a space I would be truly excited to stay in”. That was the brief given to renowned architect, Herve Marullaz, after Chalet Joux Plane’s owner secured a large plot of mountain land that backed onto a stream and an alpine woodland. The result was Chalet Joux Plane. Chalet Joux Plane is a chalet built without constraint. The chalet itself is spread over 600m2 with one end made almost entirely from glass and dedicated to mountain views.

A 23m indoor-outdoor swimming pool passes right through the building allowing guests to swim both inside and out. The middle of the chalet is dissected, top to bottom, by a glass atrium that offers natural light to every floor and every space. The term ‘James Bond pad’ can be grossly overused in the luxury travel industry but with Chalet Joux Plane finally it is apt. Joux Plane is a chalet built without constraint. A destination, to be experienced.

Chalet Joux Plane is a destination. The building itself nestles into the mountain and you enter down a 15m underground tunnel that takes you from the garage and boot room into the very heart of the chalet. The chalet itself is spread over 600m2, with one side of the chalet almost entirely glazed, offering mountain views from all the living spaces and entertainment areas. The chalet can sleep up to 14 guests across 5 luxurious bedrooms and a family/children’s bunk room, all opening out onto secluded terraces and enjoying free standing baths and hanging seats.

The specification list for the chalet is, of course, almost endless and includes a 23-meter indoor-outdoor swimming pool, a Bamford Spa including treatment room and sauna, a private gym, a cinema room, art gallery and children's playroom. The living space is vast and includes a luxurious lounge area with open fireplace and delicious sofas, a library, a floating mezzanine dining area and a bar
mezzanine with balcony overlooking the mountains.

The chalet is located in a private, elevated location; just a few minutes chauffeur drive from central Morzine. Competent skiers can ski in from the Morzine side of the valley via a short stretch of gentle off-piste. The chalet enjoys easy access to Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz that all form part of the gigantic Portes du Soleil - one of the largest ski areas in the world.

The specification list for the property is, of course, almost endless, but it is what’s not said that speaks volumes. Chalet Joux Plane has been created to offer contemporary cutting edge design but with a sense of whimsy. From the flow of the grain of wood to the floating mezzanine dining area; from indoor-outdoor swimming pool to the glazed front of the chalet looking out across the entire valley; from the glass atrium dissecting through the building drawing light in and illuminating the space, to the swing chairs and free-standing baths offering whimsical indulgence. Chalet Joux Plane is a chalet built without constraint, both an experience and a destination.

The living room in Chalet Joux Plane is truly the heart of this chalet. It is lavish in size and has been intelligently designed to offer guests a variety of individual experiences. You can dine on the floating mezzanine dining area which overlooks the mountains; you can relax in deliciously comfy sofas in front of a roaring open fire; you can retreat to the library and take a beat from the high octane slopes; or enjoy an aperitif in the mezzanine bar area where floor-to-ceiling windows offer breath-taking views of the valley. Why not step onto the large balcony or one of the private terraces and indulge in a hot tub or a swim in the pool. The chalet also offers a separate cinema room, gym, Bamford spa, kids playroom and art gallery.

One of the most exciting features of Chalet Joux Plane is the 23 meter indoor-outdoor swimming pool that passes right through the building itself. Located at the glazed far end of the chalet, offering breath-taking views across the mountains, the pool allows guests to swim both inside and outside, creating the ‘in-out’ living experience envisioned by the architect. You can keep the pool closed and
enjoy a traditional indoor swim jet experience (accessible from the Wellness Suite of Level 0), or open it up and swim from inside to out - enjoying the chalet and the mountains all at once.

Rates include: Ruinart champagne reception upon arrival, Belstar Prosecco or house champagne served throughout the week on-demand, selection of 8 to 10 house wines, open spirit bar including various Gin and specialty tonic, cocktail menu, artisan beers, chef service for daily breakfast and afternoon tea and gourmet 5-course dinner served on 5 evenings per week, children supper served 6 evenings per week, boot room snacks and refreshment, dedicated chalet manager to ensure the highest standards and provide personal in-resort concierge, luxury bathroom products from Bamford, daily housekeeping service with nightly turndown service, daily in-resort chauffeured van available from 8:00 am to 10:30 pm.

Do we share the villa? click to close
No. You will not share the villa with another party. The villa is exclusively yours. If a larger villa offers a lower bedroom rate category, the villa will remain exclusively yours but the unrented bedrooms will be locked off.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.

Can you explain the reservation process? click to open
Once a reservation request is received, Isle Blue will request a contract from the property manager for your dates of interest. Once the dates are confirmed and contract is received from the property manager, a payment will be required to confirm your reservation.
Once a reservation is confirmed, a concierge will welcome you to the planning stages of your vacation to assist with arrival logistics, rental cars, transfers, and a host of concierge services.

Can we arrange an early check in? click to open
Early check in may be possible but is at the sole discretion of the property manager. Early check in permission may not be granted until 24 hours prior to arrival.
Can we arrange a late check out? click to open
A late check out is rarely granted due to the turnover needs of a villa. A late check out may only be granted 24 hours prior to your departure from the property and only when there is no check in scheduled on the day of your check out. If a late check out is urgently needed please contact us.
Are transfers to the property included? click to open
Select villas may include a one way or roundtrip airport transfer while others may provide an escort or meeting point. Arrival logistics will be handled by your dedicated concierge as well as other concierge needs. The property's transfer policy will be listed under the Policies section.
What to expect upon arrival? click to open
In general, a villa orientation will be provided along with a key turnover. During the orientation, information and instructions for the property will be provided. Emergency contact information will be provided. We are available 7 days a week to assist with any urgent needs.
The arrival procedures due vary from villa to villa, select villas may include welcome provisioning while other properties will provide basic arrival information.

Since these vacation homes are one of a kind properties, the cancellation policy is strict. We highly recommend considering trip/travel insurance to protect against any unexpected cancellations or issues that may arise.

What happens if the property becomes unavailable after I reserve? click to open
In the unlikely event, the rented property becomes unavailable due to a major issue that may affect a guest's experience or a transfer of ownership, Isle Blue will coordinate with the property manager to find an alternate property of equal or superior standard that is subject to the guest's approval. If an alternate property is not acceptable to the guest, the guest will receive a full refund.

Yes, we accept all major credit cards. American Express, Visa, Mastercard and Discover are accepted. Please note that credit card charges may be subject to additional fees. There are no fees with payment by wire transfer or check.
In late 2018, we expect to accept a greater variety of payment methods and currencies via Stripe.
Is housekeeping included? click to open
Housekeeping tends to be a standard among vacation homes but the frequency may vary greatly depending on the property manager’s standards. Most properties will offer daily housekeeping (except Sunday and holidays) while other villas may only provide a mid-week cleaning. Please refer to the Policies section to learn about the housekeeping frequency of the property.

Yes. The property will provide bath and pool towels along with linens. Towels and linens will be refreshed as needed.
Are toiletries and tissues provided? click to open
A property may supply an initial supply of soap, shampoo, toilet paper and paper towels but replenishment of supplies once exhausted may be the responsibility of the guest. Each property varies in their handling of toiletries and paper products.
Is a hair dryer available? click to open
A hair dryer is typically available at the property. Upon arrival, please check the bathrooms or closet. Typically, a hair dryer is included in each bathroom.
Is an iron included? click to open
Typically yes, irons tend to be standard equipment for vacation homes. Please ask the property representative upon orientation for the location of the iron.
