Nestled atop the cliffs that gaze over the Isère river gorge, stands the Chalet Vieux Pont Val d'Isère. This recently erected alpine haven boasts an unparalleled location, epitomizing the essence of chic seclusion. The mastermind behind this architectural masterpiece is Michel Covarel, who has meticulously designed a resplendent chalet that exudes an air of opulence, harmoniously blending with its sublime surroundings.
The interior spaces are a symphony of elegance; the chalet spans across four levels, revealing a grand open-concept living and dining domain on the uppermost floor. Descending below, a quintet of ensuite bedrooms awaits, with one ingeniously nestled into the very cradle of the river-hewn rock face. The lowest tier unveils a beguiling retreat featuring a sophisticated pool and a tranquil hammam. Situated merely 150 meters away from the Le Fornet cable car, the chalet also offers the luxury of skiing right to its doorstep, courtesy of the Mangard ski run.
The journey begins within the reception area and ski chamber, where a seamless space for ski storage and indispensable boot warmers await. A regal en-suite master bedroom with the option of king or twin beds and an embracing balcony occupies this level. A floor below, three generously proportioned king/twin rooms, each with its distinctive character and flair, are revealed. One of these rooms boasts an antique door headboard and a rugged interior rock wall, which runs gracefully through the chamber. A further descent leads to the basement level, unveiling a private bedroom commanding mesmerizing vistas of the ancient bridge, accompanied by a quaint terrace. An indoor oasis comprising an invigorating pool with a current generator and a serene steam room is also tucked away on this floor.
The zenith of the chalet houses the capacious open-plan living and dining expanse. Bathed in an abundance of natural light, this space offers panoramic vistas from three vantage points. A resplendent reclaimed wood table accommodates ten, while a smaller card and games table caters to more intimate gatherings. The hearth, an emblem of warmth and camaraderie, commands the room, accompanied by a generously sized flat-screen television, perfect for indulging in sports spectacles or cinematic pleasures.
