St. Lucia beaches have their own distinctive character, from active beaches perfect for watersports to gorgeous unspoiled stretches of sand backed by dense tropical jungles. The sheltered west coast provides calm Caribbean waters, while the east coast is home to wild, windy beaches with pounding surf. The choice is yours.

Active Reduit Beach
If watersports are your thing, popular mile-long Reduit Beach on Rodney Bay is the place to go. Calm water is ideal for sunfish sailing, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling. Plan to stay for the spectacular colors of the St. Lucia sunset, best appreciated from a beachbar with a rum punch.

Water Taxi to Pigeon Island
Hop aboard a water taxi and settle down on the southern side of Pigeon Island National Park for a tranquil day communing with nature. Rent a beach lounge chair, and when it’s time for lunch stop at Jambe de Bois, a charming little seaside café surrounded by lush vegetation, for kingfish or seafood lasagna.

Between the Mountains at Anse des Pitons
For an up close and personal view of the soaring Piton mountains, visit Anse des Pitons. This crescent-shaped white sand beach provides breathtaking views of the iconic Pitons that seem to rise right out of the water and touch the blue St. Lucia sky.

Snorkel at Smuggler’s Cove
Descend a long wooden stairway to beautiful Smuggler’s Cove beach, backed by a cliff and the lush greenery of the island. Take along your snorkel gear and prepare to be amazed by the colorful underwater world just offshore. A thatched roof beach bar provides refreshment.

Ferry to Labas Beach
Plan to spend the day at Labas Beach, a stunning stretch of sand dotted with palm trees at the edge of sparkling Marigot Bay. Explore by kayak, then relax on a lounge chair to soak up the rays. A beach bar offers beer and rotisserie dishes for lunch.

Mysterious Anse Cochon
If you are ready for an adventure, take a boat to Anse Cochon. A favorite of snorkelers because of the offshore reef, this secluded strip of dark sand is backed by the green jungle of the tropics. Rent equipment at the dive shop.

Volcanic Sand at Anse Chastanet
Get in touch with the volcanic origins of St. Lucia and spend a memorable day at Anse Chastenet beach, made entirely of volcanic sand surrounded by the lush island greenery of the hillside. Rent snorkel gear and lounge chairs, and eat at the beachfront restaurant.

Windsurfing at Cas en Bas and Anse de Sables
The breezy spot at Cas en Bas on the wild east coast is normally safe for swimming and a favorite for windsurfers and kitesurfers. Another east coast beach, Anse de Sables, provides constant wind, rental equipment and lessons.
