The ocean south of Mirissa has been declared as one of the best places in the world to see large pods of majestic Blue whales, between the months of December and April.
Along with Blue whales, other whale and dolphin species migrate to warmer feeding grounds in the Bay of Bengal, passing the island’s southern shores.
Embarking on a marine mammal watching cruise is a must-do if you are in Talpe during this season.

- Depending on the weather, the ride can be a little bumpy and humid. Take anti-sickness tablets ahead oftime. For your safety, you will be compelled to wear a life jacket as you leave the harbour.
