After relaxing on the beach and swimming in the sea, take the time to experience the real Jamaica by signing on to an exciting adventure. A good place to start is by getting the lay of the land with a helicopter tour. See Dunn’s River Falls from above, and then climb your way to the top on a guided tour. Venture into Jamaica’s lush, mountainous interior and explore historical sites, a working distillery and a coffee plantation. Swim with the dolphins, observe crocodiles on the Black River or dive deep into the crystalline water full of colorful fishes to create a memory of a lifetime.

Climb the Blue Mountains

Between three and four hours hiking into the lush forest, climbing the Blue Mountain Peak guarantee a spectacular view of the Caribbean Sea and up to Cuba by clear days. It’s not a serious challenge but hikers should be reasonably fit. Reaching the peak for sunrise is a stunning experience. A guide is recommended for hiking at night.

Climb up a Waterfall

Float Down River on a Raft

Explore the rich vegetation of Jamaica’s mountainous interior while floating down the river on a bamboo raft for built for two. Begin at the little village of Lethe and cruise over deep pools and mild rapids under the guidance of an experienced raftsman. Or, start at Falmouth, one of the oldest towns on the island and known for distinctive Georgian architecture.

Tour the Appleton Rum Distillery

Take a guided tour of the scenic Appleton Rum Distillery and sample a variety of rums. See the copper pot stills and the barrel house that give Appleton rum its distinctive character. Swim with the Dolphins

Put on your bathing suit and towel and leave your jewelry at the villa to get an up close and personal look at dolphins at Dolphin Cove. Take the jungle trail to see tropical birds and wildlife.

See Crocodiles in the Black River

Visit the south side of Jamaica and take the boat trip up the Black River to see crocodiles in their natural habitat, and then visit picturesque YS Falls.

Dive deep in the crystalline water

Montego Bay offers few good diving sites for advanced and less experienced divers. Caves, canyons, tunnels filled with clouds of colorful fishes, corals, and sponges. A unique experience.

Tour a Working Coffee and Pineapple Plantation

Enjoy the Croydon Plantation, replete with wildflowers, trickling waterfalls and lush vegetation in the majestic Jamaican mountains. Savor samples and a barbecued lunch served with the world-famous Jamaica Blue Mountain Coffee.

Discover Jamaican History

Explore the 1755 Good Hope Country House high in the mountains with a tour that will take you through the 2,000-acre working farm. See pottery made on a kiln, then swim and hike through orange groves along the Martha Bray River. Have lunch at the dining hall. For amazing views, climb to the upper verandah of the Great House, built in 1790 by the Barretts of Wimpole Street.
