The beaches on St Martin are renowned for their stunning beauty. The picture postcard beaches draw visitors from around the world. The beaches offer pristine conditions with white sand set against the shimmering turquoise waters. Water temperatures are comfortable year round due to St Martin’s ideal mid 80 degree weather throughout the year. Here are our top St Martin beaches.

Mullet Bay

Mullet Bay beach is located on the southwestern quadrant of the island between Cupecoy and Maho. The long crescent shaped beach is ideal for all travelers. The water conditions tend to be relatively calm. There can be waves intermittently. Beach conditions tend to be ideal. There are two lolos on the beach serving refreshments, barbeque and rental chairs. The beach does not have restrooms.

Baie Longue

Baie Longue beach is located in the southwestern quadrant of St Martin within the gated community of Terres Basses. The stunning beach is roughly a mile long and uncrowded. Baie Longue offers stunning sunset views and good snorkeling toward the southern end where La Samanna is located.

Plum Bay

Plum Bay beach is one of our favorites due to it’s pristine condition and uncrowded nature. The western facing beach is located within the gated community of Terres Basses. Although the beach is indeed public, most visitors are unaware of it’s existence. This allows Plum Bay beach to be an exceptional haven for those looking for a serene and picturesque setting away from crowds. The entrance of the beach leads to a protected cove that offers ideal conditions for most periods. Great for families with young children. The beach offers one of the best sunset views on the island. The beach does not have amenities.

Baie Rouge

Baie Rouge beach is another beach located within Terres Basses. However, the access point is off the main road. Baie Rouge is one of the longest on the island. The crescent shaped beach offers panoramic views that include Falaise des Oiseaux (cliff of the birds) as well as Anguilla in the distance. Conditions are variable. When calm, the beach is an ideal option. There are two casual beachside restaurants at the public entrance of the beach that offer food, drink and rental chairs/umbrellas.

Happy Bay

Happy Bay beach is a secluded beach located in the northwestern quadrant of the island. The island is only accessible by boat or a long walk. Select villas have a private path to the beach. Due to the lack of access, the gorgeous beach is desolate and beautiful. The beach has ideal conditions with calm and clear water and great sand.

Orient Beach

St Martin’s most famous beach is Orient beach. Orient beach is a tourist hotspot. The mile long beach located in the northeastern quadrant of the island offers a string of fantastic beach bars as well as a full offering of watersports and activities. The beach has full amenities. The beach can get crowded and the surf can be rough at times.

Dawn Beach

Dawn beach is an Atlantic side beach on the eastern part of the island. The area has become heavily developed so parking is an issue. The beach itself is gorgeous. Dawn beach has good snorkeling at the reef that is located about 100 feet from the shore. The beach has a good beachside restaurant. Guests can enjoy views of St Barts in the distance.
