Muyil is an ancient Mayan site located in the Sian Ka’an biosphere reserve, and it offers a great location to learn more about the area. This trading post is next to the tropical forest and freshwater lagoon, where you can enjoy learning more about Mayan ecology and history. A tour of the area is available several times a week and can accommodate up to 10 guests. Convenient transportation is provided in a van with a cooler full of water and snacks.
Guests on the tour can walk among the trees near gorgeous temples. You’ll have the chance to take in vibrant vegetation, seasonal pools, and a lookout tower that gives you a view of the entire area. A picnic is also provided with local snacks and seasonal fruits at the end of the walk. Next is a boat ride through canals and flooded savannah before heading out into the ocean near birds and small temples.
