Nestled in the heart of the West Shore, Owl Cottage is a delightful modern cabin tucked away on a serene, wooded lot surrounded by cedar trees. This private 4-bedroom lodge serves as the welcoming host home for Cedar Crest Cottages, a charming historic vacation retreat situated just steps from the beach and a quick one-minute drive from Homewood Mountain Resort.
Please note that Owl Cottage does not have air conditioning, but its natural setting provides a refreshing ambiance. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a cozy foyer with stone floors and an inviting wooden bench, perfect for shedding ski boots or sandy beach gear.
The living room is designed for relaxation and socializing, featuring two full-length leather sofas and matching armchairs arranged around an impressive stone fireplace. A flat-screen TV adds entertainment when desired. With hardwood floors, high ceilings, and built-in bookshelves, the living area exudes the warmth of a European alpine lodge.
The fully equipped kitchen is a delight for the family chef, complete with cutting-board countertops and all the necessary appliances for preparing delicious home-cooked meals. Adjoining the kitchen is a 4-seat dining table that overlooks the picturesque woods outside. For a delightful dining experience in nature, a spacious, furnished deck is just steps away from the living area.
Please be aware that the BBQ grill on the deck is unavailable for guest use at the request of the local fire department. However, guests can enjoy the community BBQ facilities provided. Outside the primary bedroom, guests can find a full bathroom with a tub shower, as well as a separate powder room for added convenience. Owl Cottage also offers a washer and dryer for keeping ski clothes warm and beach towels dry for the next day's adventures.
As a guest of Cedar Crest Cottages, you'll have access to the community BBQ grill and an oversized fire pit with filtered views of the lake and mountains. During the summer, you can enjoy swimming, sailing, and boating on the nearby lake or explore the surrounding mountains through scenic hikes. When winter arrives, Homewood Mountain Resort, perfect for family-friendly skiing, is less than two minutes away. Alternatively, you can venture just 25 minutes to experience the diverse terrain of Olympic Valley. For additional entertainment, dining, and shopping options, Tahoe City is a short 10-minute drive away.
Please be informed that the fire pit is operational only during the appropriate seasons and may not be available during the winter months due to heavy snowfall.
