Welcome to Hidden Estates, a luxurious vacation rental and a standout on the Palm Springs Historical Society’s Celebrity Home Tour. This historic Spanish estate was originally designed by a master architect for a well-known fashion designer and later became a secluded desert retreat for a host of Hollywood legends. Once owned by the Douglas family, it still features a handcrafted pool table made specifically for Kirk Douglas. Over the years, other famous residents have included Bing Crosby and his wife Dixie, Sammy Davis Jr., and more.
Located in Old Las Palmas, one of Palm Springs' most prestigious neighborhoods, often referred to as the "Beverly Hills" of the desert, Hidden Estates is just a short walk from the best restaurants, shops, and entertainment downtown. This area is rich in architecture and celebrity history, with nearby homes owned by stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Kurt Russell, and the late Katharine Hepburn.
The estate includes both a main house and a private casita, with a total of five bedrooms and six bathrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 10 guests. The Main House showcases stunning Spanish Colonial Revival design, complete with vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, period furnishings, and colorful Spanish tilework. The living room features stylish couches, armchairs, and a fireplace, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. A formal dining table seats 10, and the adjacent eat-in kitchen includes high-end appliances and a cheerful bistro table.
For indoor entertainment, guests can enjoy the historic Kirk Douglas pool table, located next to French doors that open onto a shaded patio. A second living room provides a cozy spot for evening cocktails and conversation. Outdoors, guests are treated to breathtaking views of the San Jacinto Mountains and lush palms while relaxing by the saltwater pool and spa, playing bocce ball or pickleball, or dining under the cabana. The backyard also includes an outdoor kitchen, cushioned lounge seating, a foosball table, and a firepit perfect for gathering at night.
The accommodations are just as inviting. The primary bedroom features a luxurious king bed and a private bathroom. Additional guest rooms include one with a king bed, one with a queen bed, and one with a twin bed. The Casita offers a peaceful escape with its own front porch, a guest bedroom with a king bed, and a spacious balcony ideal for morning yoga or evening relaxation.

Terms and conditions
Credit is based on total booking value before taxes and fees. Credit applies to experiences only and cannot be used toward villa rental, taxes, or fees. Credit must be used during the booked stay and expires at checkout. Cannot be combined with other offers and has no cash value. Valid only on new reservations made within the booking window. Concierge service must be booked directly through our website and does not apply to third-party providers or external websites.
Maximum Short-Term Rental Stay
Please note that, due to local regulations, short-term rental reservations are limited to a maximum stay of 28 consecutive nights. Requests for stays exceeding 28 nights cannot be accommodated under short-term rental regulations and may be subject to different rental terms, policies, and procedures.
