Villa Alkera, Shoal Bay East, Anguilla. 

Five king-sized bedrooms and seven bathrooms constitute the extravagant beauty that is Villa Alkera on Shoal Bay East, Anguilla. Perhaps it says enough that the main dining room features a Chihuly chandelier that seems to bring the colors of the Caribbean Sea into the villa proper, or that a floating island with an access bridge occupies the pool. Then again, it's really very difficult to say enough about Alkera, as it should—for all intents and purposes—be seen firsthand.

Starting at the main living space on the second floor, a whitewashed, minimalist appeal is highlighted by a velvet blue sofa shaped rather like an ocean wave against a feature wall made of slate stone with floating shelves. The room appears to be in motion with the ocean. This leads into the main dining space featuring a blue-and-yellow Chihuly chandelier, followed by the kitchen. The kitchen cabinets and appliances are driftwood gray, and barstools resembling reconstructed fishnets are perched at the counter there.

This floor gives way to a lounge area on the back terrace and the pool deck. A floating island in the pool features a shaded lounge area overlooking the sea, while a short walk across the grass will reveal another cabana under which a barbecue kitchenette and bar stools await a catered, poolside dining affair. Chefs are on staff at Alkera for breakfasts, along with a butler or host, laundress, daily maid service, on-call property manager, gardener, pool person, and a complimentary concierge—all experts in service and hospitality. Travel, charters, activities, and bookings can all be arranged at the guests' request, such as in-villa spa treatments, express travel to and from the airport, and boat rentals. Dinner with gourmet chefs or caterers can also be arranged for a mixer utilizing the garage, which has been built around an enormous lava rock. Tables, chairs, and wicker drop-lighting create space rather like a craft-brewery ready to be enjoyed in some social regard.

With five king-sized bedrooms, Alkera’s guest capacity is ten total. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a vanity, water closet, shower, ceiling fan, air-conditioning, wi-fi, television, and terrace or garden access. One shower is a beautiful outdoor number and one suite has a private kitchenette and living space. Ocean views over palm trees looking into Shoal Ba beckon relaxation, providing the highest luxuries available in luxury vacation locations and amenities.
