A Very Brief History of Cap Cana
In 2001, the area’s golf courses were created through an arrangement with golf legend Jack Nicklaus. It was not yet an existing community, but would soon grow and expand rapidly.
At the same time as the arrangements for the golf courses, designs for the marina began. Within three years, the community announced its exclusive deal with Nicklaus to create the Golden Bear Lodge, and Punta Espada (the golf course) construction began.
