Beach Secrets, St Martin.

Villa Beach Secrets, on Bordeaux Bay in St. Martin, keeps its secrets behind a low stone wall atop which is a collection of seashells garnered from the white-sand beach just on the other side. From the beach, enter the back garden through a gate and walk down a narrow path that cuts down the center of a sprawling lawn. On one side of the lawn is a raised lounge deck with white rattan lounge sofas and some individual sun-loungers which face the pool.

The pool is entered via the courtyard beneath a vestibule built to mimic the entrance of the villa, except the stairs of this entrance are submerged in water. Guests exiting the pool via the vestibule stairs find themselves facing the main floor interior living space to the left, the kitchen and dining room to the right. The main living space features a sturdy white shelving unit that hosts a variety of large shells, conches, and vases. Two lamps with red coral posts stand atop this on either side of a wall-mounted flat-screen television. A large grey sectional faces this wall surrounding a beautiful white-marble and glass coffee table. Behind the sofa is Villa Beach Secrets’ main dining table stretched out beneath two abstract paintings of the ocean. There’s nothing abstract about the view over the ocean that stretches the length of this space, especially at sunset.

The kitchen is decorated with white cabinetry and appliances offset by gorgeous blue tile work on the counters and backsplash. The bedrooms take on this quality of adorning themselves in personality through the use of color. Deep coral-red in one room stains the drapes, king bedspread, ottoman chair, headboard, and lampshades of a wonderful bedside piece designed to intimate movement as of seaweed.

Ocean views via the poolside terrace and back garden also reveal an alfresco dining table for gourmet meals catered and prepared in-house. Four bedrooms—three king bedrooms and one room with two queen beds—provide sleeping arrangements for eight guests at Beach Secrets. Guests have en-suite bathrooms with showers, vanities, and a water closet. Villa Beach Secret welcomes eight guests a night.
