Villa Sugar Kube Turks & Caicos, Grace Bay. 

Gazing out at Smiths Reef along the northern coast of central Turks and Caicos is the Villa Sugar Kube, a one-bedroom vision of architectural mastery that places travelers within easy reach of the island’s many beaches, restaurants, and shopping. A two-story property, it takes its name from its cube-like appearance, bold white hues and its angular style. The villa is set behind the beachfront villas that line Grace Bay. There is a short path that connects guests to Grace Bay beach.

The contemporary villa features an array of amenities typically reserved for more luxurious properties, including a pool terrace, gardens, and more. A main attraction in this compact and yet simultaneously spacious villa is the infinity-edge pool. Shaped like a perfect square, it is surrounded by a large array of mature palms. To one side of the pool is a full-sized sun bed with room for three people at once. Backing up to the villa, the first floor opens into a verandah space where al fresco dining and a barbecue make it easy to start the day or finish it up in a pleasant outdoor setting.

Step inside through the oversized glass doors and you encounter the great room. Taking its design cues from Balinese style, it juxtaposes the bright white marble floors, high white ceilings and white walls against bold earthy hues of wooden moldings and furnishings. This makes the great room a visual delight and it contains the living room with entertainment system, a breakfast bar, and a streamlined, modern kitchen. The stairs to the second level are just to one side and this is where the bedroom is located.

The bedroom is a visual delight too and features a covered balcony and an enormous and luxurious bath that includes a plunge tub in the main living space.  A separate shower stall is located adjacent to the tub. There is a king bed and premium entertainment system. The property is also home to an amazing rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the sea and the landscape all around.

The Villa Sugar Kube is a rare find in that it is a single bedroom property with the luxuries and amenities of a much larger home. Set within the privacy of a palm forest, and providing three separate levels of living space, it is great for the solo traveler or the couple eager to see the very best that Turks and Caicos has to offer, but in a rarified setting.
