Casual elegance is the hallmark of Blanchard’s, a charming restaurant set in a garden beside the azure waters of the sea. Pair inventive, haute cuisine menu items with wine from a Wine Spectator award-winning wine list. Floor-to-ceiling teal shutters and colorful wall paintings add to the festive atmosphere, but Blanchard’s reputation is really based on its menu. Expect dishes like lobster and shrimp cakes, jerk chicken with cinnamon rum bananas and mahi-mahi on a bed of mushrooms, topped off with warm bread pudding with apricot rum sauce. Asian Cuisine and Art at Hibernia at Island Harbour

Tucked away at the far eastern end of the island, Hibernia is a wood beam cottage overlooking the charming fishing village of Island Harbour. Dishes are prepared with local organic food in a setting that is highlighted by lovely gardens, unique tableware and a small art gallery offering a selection for owner Mary Pat’s trips around the world. Co-owner chef Raoul received formal training from Ecole Hoteliere of Strasbourg in France. Expect dishes like wahoo marinated in ginger and mild chili sauce, grilled snapper filet with shitake and pumpkin gratin, and lobster tail roasted with seaweed butter. Mango’s on the Beach at Barnes Bay

Mango’s Seaside Grill is a beachfront eatery serving fresh local seafood and hot, crusty rolls that are baked fresh every day. Light and healthy menu items like spicy local lobster, conch chowder, Cruzan rum barbecued chicken and whole grilled snapper are perennial favorites. Scrumptious desserts are prepared onsite, so save room for apple tart, mango ginger crème brulee or coconut cheesecake. Enhance your meal with a selection from the world-class wine list and, if Cuban cigars are your thing, you have come to the right place. Mango’s serves burgers and sandwiches for lunch. What can be better than a romantic dinner at a candlelit table with crisp white tablecloths in a lovely Long Bay location overlooking the ocean. Enjoy your meal listening to soft music, and then watch the glorious sunset while savoring a brandy at the lounge. Your host Oliver MacDonna serves continental cuisine with an emphasis on seafood, starting with gazpacho soup and entrees like lobster and crayfish. Be sure to call ahead if you want the house special, home style rock oven baked free-range chicken stuffed with sweet potatoes and drizzled with rosemary ginger sauce. An Active Bar Scene at Veya in Sandy Ground

Head for Veya for the chic bar scene in the lively lounge and join the fun by sipping mojitos and listening to the sounds of smooth jazz. Enjoy sophisticated cuisine with an international flair, from Moroccan spiced shrimp to Vietnamese calamari the. The jerk tuna features a rum and coffee glaze and is served and with plantain chips. Do not miss out on dessert, including a warm chocolate cake with banana ice cream. A café downstairs offers a breakfast menu with bakery selections and lunch with salad and Panini.
